long live the #cloneclub  can't wait for season 2.

  2. Halfdan Reschat says:

Orphan Black was an extremely pleasant surprise seemingly coming out of nowhere.

  3. Jake Kern says:

    This show is remarkable!

  4. Kari Tedrick says:

    I've never heard of it.
When I looked it up, I read:
… science fiction television series starring Tatiana Maslany as several identical women who are revealed to be clones.

    I'm in.

Found it on usdrama.net so now I can watch all of the first season before Season 2 is released.
    Yeah Me!

  5. Jake Kern says:

+Kari Tedrick, Tatiana Maslany really deserved the Emmy for best actress in a dramatic series. There are so many times when I forget that these characters are all played by the same person.

And a shoutout for her brother, Fee, who is possibly my favorite "sidekick" of all time!

  6. Halfdan Reschat says:

    Tatiana Maslany is absolutely phenomenal.

  7. Kari Tedrick says:

Good to  know, +Jake Kern  but they and me at Revealed to be clones

  8. Halfdan Reschat says:

+Kari Tedrick, that part I had no idea about when I began watching the show. It was all mysterious and it had me extremely confused.

  9. Kari Tedrick says:

Did you start watching the from the first episode? +Halfdan Reschat

  10. Halfdan Reschat says:

+Kari Tedrick, yes, I watched when it originally aired. So much better experience because I didn't know what was coming.

  11. Halfdan Reschat says:

+Kari Tedrick, also I strongly believe that there is no other way of watching any series than from the beginning and never skipping a single episode. I consider anything else disrespectful.

  12. Lacerant Plainer says:

Have to take my proverbial hat off to the actress. She seems like different people in the roles she plays. That is no mean achievement.

  13. Jake Kern says:

The subtlety of her performance & accents. When Sarah is pretending to be Alison is different (but close!) to Alison. When Alison pretends to be Sarah, it's not Sarah, and it's not as close because she's not as good at it as Sarah is. Her performance is superhuman.

  14. Kari Tedrick says:

I stand next to you in that belief, +Halfdan Reschat
I only wondered if, when the show first aired, if the clone thing was a mystery to the viewers until they deemed it time to reveal it, or if maybe you missed a key part of the storyline.

I've apparently ruined that part for myself by looking up the show.
     Damn you Wikipedia!

  15. Halfdan Reschat says:

+Kari Tedrick, it was in no way known. The whole discovery was something the viewers learned about alongside the characters. We felt like we were part of the story. It was great and anyone watching later on after having this part spoiled will never know what it was like. They will get a lesser experience. Sorry.

  16. Kari Tedrick says:

Oh, well. I blame Scott. He posted this post, caused me to look it up and blow the surprise.
    #blamescott

  17. Halfdan Reschat says:

+Kari Tedrick, we all blame +Scott Cramer (all the time).

  18. Scott Cramer says:

    For this… Legit. 😉

  19. Ashlan Nathens says:

    +Yoon-Mi Kim I'm in 🙂

  20. Lacerant Plainer says:

We should so do a list of recommended TV shows 😛

  21. Kari Tedrick says:

I'm half way through the season of Orphan Black.
It is a pretty awesome show.

  22. Kari Tedrick says:

I've got Jerry so hooked on this show. The moment one episode ends he wants me to start the next one.
I asked him, are you sure you don't want to pace yourself?  Season 2 doesn't start until mid-April.
He says,  No. We need to watch the next one *now *.
    LOL. I've created a monster.

  23. Kari Tedrick says:

    spoiler alert

    +Jake Kern and +Lacerant Plainer,
    I agree wholeheartedly!
It's amazing to think that Titian's Aslant plays all of them.
I can't comprehend that the same actress is Sarah and the "angry angel".
And you're right,  when she's Allison being Sarah, she's not as comfortable in the roll as when she's Sarah being Allison.
But when she's the dark angel being Sarah, it's a whole other thing.
Loving every twisted minute of it!

  24. Lacerant Plainer says:

Haha…. very true. When I first saw the premise (Sarah at the station)…. I thought it would be the typical double role kinda scenario, but the way that scene unfolded gave me hope. Especially when they showed the soccer mom.

    Amazing acting.

  25. Yoon-Mi Kim says:

+Lacerant Plainer we so should! That's a great idea.

  26. Lacerant Plainer says:

I had made a list sometime back…. but I could reel one off 😛

  27. Yoon-Mi Kim says:

    +Lacerant Plainer Reel away!

  28. Lacerant Plainer says:

Hmmm since you asked +Yoon-Mi Kim…. (apologies in advance to +Scott Cramer for hijacking the thread); including all time favorites:

    1. The Wire
    2. The West Wing
    3. Firefly
    4. Veronica Mars
    5. Jericho
    6. BSG
    7. Star trek (various different series)
    8. SGU & SGA.
    9. The Unit
    10. Outnumbered
    11. Yes minister and Yes Prime minister (I love the dialogue).
    12. Deadwood
    13. Dexter

    Episodic stuff
    1. Episodes
    2. The Big Bang Theory
    3. Modern Family
    4. Parks and Recreation
    5. Scrubs
    6. Suits
    7. Party down
    8. Entourage
    9. Coupling
    10. Dollhouse

    Newer stuff (for me)…
    1. The Americans
    2. Game of Thrones
    3. QI (Always fun)
    4. Dog Whisperer
    5. Terra Nova (got cancelled).
    6. Studio 60
    7. Bones
    8. Lillyhammer
    9. Being Human
    10. Continuum

Others like Numbers and Mike and Molly started well, but lost their way a little. Liked 4400 for a bit, and so also Lost and so many others, but these have not disappointed me at least 🙂 I've not put some of the obvious names, since most people have seen them anyways. I've missed a lot here. But 30 seems a lot to mention!

+Gita Jaisinghani says Bitten… and Lost Girl. Her list may be slightly different.

  29. Gita Jaisinghani says:

+Jake Kern and others….. I did already know about the clone premise when I started watching it, but I don't think it took anything away from my enjoyment. The reveal came fairly early on in the ep, and to me was (and is) a small part of the story.
Agree with every single bit about Tatiana – she should be getting multiple awards for the roles. Her gait, body-language and facial expressions for each of her roles is so well-defined and executed, it's a pleasure to watch.

  30. Scott Cramer says:

    +Lacerant Plainer Awesome list

  31. Yoon-Mi Kim says:

+Lacerant Plainer I've seen only one from your first set of 10! Thanks for the list 😀 Will check them out.
