“If Google+ continues to attract users at an aggressive pace, Facebook will run the risk of losing its main competitive advantage over time,” a report from the American Customer Satisfaction Index states.

It's Official: Social Media Users Happier With Google+ Than With Facebook | Gadget Lab | Wired.com
As much as Facebook is a part of people's day-to-day lives, a lot of people don't actually like using the social network giant. Google+ on the other hand is getting a warm reception in comparison, acc…

I'd want Plus to ride the fine line between usage numbers high enough not to be seen as another failed social media attempt (thus ending up canceled) and low enough to avoid the inanity of sites like FaceBook and Twitter.

  2. Luis Roca says:

I'm glad to see G+ doing well but it's not immune to inanity. 90million+ users has provided its fair share.

I do love the interactions with my friends here more than anywhere else.

  3. Jim Gomes says:

The only thing that Facebook has going for it is inertia.  That's not a winning marketing strategy.

  4. Thomas Jones says:

Not saying it is immune. What I'm saying is that at current usage levels and patterns, the signal-to-noise ratio is still fairly decent.

Having used the Internet since the late 80s, I've seen a number of systems seem to get destroyed by increasing popularity (high signal to noise ratios when less popular with a precipitous drop as popularity increased …until such point that everyone, not just the early adopters, notices "wow, this is crap" and leave).

  5. Scott Cramer says:

I think G+ is safe by design; follow as few or as many people in your circles as you like, regardless of the size of the entire network.

  6. Luis Roca says:

That's true +Scott Cramer and I think G+ helps you do that a bit better than the other places but one can control who they follow on twitter/FB. I just think we get into strange territory when assuming G+ is immune to the rest of the internet as I've observed from it's most vocal fans. — Not you. you're good, reasonable people. 🙂

  7. Ralph Mettier says:

What G+ will need, if the FB masses come pouring in, is subtractive circle management; meaning that you can have circles that you exclude from seeing your posts. "Share to my circles, except my FB_friends circle".

  8. Thomas Jones says:

I've been asking for exclude list since last summer. It seems hard for some people to understand the concept because they either weren't aware of its ability on sites like facebook or didn't understand its usefulness there, either.
