Wall Street Occupation — Occupation, not Organization?
Maybe I have not dove in deep enough yet, but aside from yelling things we already feel, what is the call to action of the Wall Street occupation? Is it simply for people to sit up and take notice? Is it to push a reform agenda? Is it to prosecute criminal actions from the recent economic disaster? Is it for reform? Is it all of the above?
I like what I see because it is better than nothing. However, leaderless and with no easily detectable and digestible agenda, I fear it will at best be eventually dismissed. At worst, I fear Wall Street could easily hire a few rabble-rousers to mix in with the crowd and incite violence to discredit any positive momentum. I pay more attention than a lot of people I know and if I do not know the agenda, aside from simple public outrage, I doubt a lot of others do. The danger of public outrage without an agenda, in my opinion, is eventually you just look like an unruly mob.
