Tattoo by Van Halen — after a 30 year wait

Want to be a fan. Want to like it. Not a fan. Don't like it. I don't hate it, but there are way too many interesting groups doing new and good stuff out there. I found this to be pretty simplistic and the video is shot and edited in such a way as to hide so many things… black and white, quick cuts, and constant motion. If I want to listen to Van Halen, I'll go back and break out the old CD's (read, MP3 collection). My first impression, you can't reanimate the dead. A zombie is never going to be the one you loved. 🙁

Thanks to +Charles Samples for sending me the video earlier.

"in flames" is the tune from the demos for the 1st album that has been morphed into "tattoo". I posted it if you want to check it out.

Love to take a listen… throw a link over?

  6. Scott Cramer says:

Hm. Not a great sign to be recycling already and from that far back… in my opinion. 😉 I agree, I like Down in Flames more.

  7. Kyle McBride says:

Among other things, "tattoo" is missing the classic Mike Anthony backing vocals.
