Help a Fellow Plusser AND Win Cookies!

C'mon. Would I ask you to do something for nothing? Okay… yes, yes, maybe I have done that before. But, this time I'm offering up some free homemade baked goods. 😉

+Kari Tedrick is a good friend, fellow plusser, and talented photographer. She's trying to get a pic into a local paper. It's a win based on popular vote so she could use our help. Direct link at the bottom of this post. Voting deadline is Thursday 9/11.

EDIT: The website had the dates wrong! Voting deadline was midnight 9/7. Kari got 2nd place and her photo will still be featured in the paper!!!

Since I already posted about this, I figured I'd better up the ante. For a few minutes of your time, and either registering or using the dreaded FB login, I will enter everyone who comments here that they voted into a drawing for FREE HOMEMADE COOKIES. 😀

1. Yes, I can bake. Other plussers have lived to tell the tale.
2. I don't know if you really voted so this is the honor system. However, the cookies will be magically enchanted so that if you are lying, you will get a tummy ache. Oh, and aliens will burst from your chest cavity.
3. Cookies will be sent sometime before U.S. Thanksgiving.
4. Your address will not be used for stealing your identity, rigging national elections, or subscribing to Brony mailing lists.

I'm in australia. Your mail service sux arse. But I voted. I want cookies *biscuits

  2. Scott Cramer says:

+Alexandra Bagnara, you are in the drawing. May the luck of cookies be upon you. I will look up ways to keep 'em fresh. 😉

  3. Kari Tedrick says:

    OMG!!!!
    Are you crazy?

Btw, I can testify to the tastyness of Scott's cookies. I can testify about his shipping and packaging skills of said cookies too, but that's a story for another day.

  4. Alexandra Bagnara says:

Oh lol. You know you can vote 3 times daily?

  5. Gregg Gies says:

I voted as well (using my super secret alternative Facebook account which I use only for games I am too embarrassed to admit I play—curse you, Candy Crush).

  6. Scott Cramer says:

Yup. You know… I'll count each day as a different drawing entry. Cuz that's how I roll.

  7. Scott Cramer says:

+Gregg Gies Hehehehe… I had two accounts so I could give the other one lives. 😉

  8. Mary C. says:

    COOKIES!

BTW… which Brony mailing list are you claiming you won't sell our info to again? :B

  9. N. M. Scuri says:

    Done and Cookies!!

  10. Christof Harper says:

Done! Okay, that was annoying. It kept insisting on posting to facebook to allow me to log in. But my kids like cookies and walking to the mailbox.

  11. Halfdan Reschat says:

Wow, that was a hassle. It kept trying to get to post to Facebook. I did however, in time, manage to get to cast my vote.

    Hatred for everything Facebook-related resurrected.

  12. Kristi Fahlsing says:

Voted (again)! 🙂 This pic is first with 99 votes!!! YAY!!

I would vote for +Kari Tedrick's pic; no bribery necessary 😉

  13. Kari Tedrick says:

Sorry guys. Jerry and I, as well as my dad have all been voting daily since the start vis the Facebook login and it hasn't once posted to Facebook.

Guess I should have made it clearer, the Facebook login is only a convenience,it's not required.

Thank you all for your help.

  14. Micha Fire says:

voted my 3 times now too (even with facebook login I had to register ………)

  15. Scott Cramer says:

FB is evil. Cookie contest was necessary to balance the universe! Yay on votes and voters! May need to draw a local, national, and international winner. Lol

  16. Gregg Gies says:

That sounds good, +Scott Cramer, as it increases my odds of cookie goodness 🙂

  17. Scott Cramer says:

    I'm a pushover. 🙂

  18. Kari Tedrick says:

I just got an email, declaring me a winner. Not sure if first or second place…
I'm a bit confused as the contest isn't supposed to be over yet,and voting is still going on.
    But wth…
    Woot Woot, you guys rock!

  19. Gregg Gies says:

And three more votes today. That is really an awesome shot, though I may have to start throwing one of my daily votes to others. There are some really great shots there.

  20. Kari Tedrick says:

    +Gregg Gies thanks.
I'm curious, though. Which other ones on there do you like?
Because I agree, there are some that should have given me a run for my money, had it been a real contest and not a popularity poll.

  21. Kari Tedrick says:

    +Halfdan Reschat, +Mary C., +N. M. Scuri
    Thank you, for your help.
Do you happen to remember how may votes it had when you went on there?
I think they may have tallied votes at midnight local time and I have no clue who was winning then.

  22. Gregg Gies says:

I like several of the wildlife shots, +Kari Tedrick, including "Great Blue Heron", "Reflecting" (though it needs some adjustments for lighting), and "Male Wood Duck". Most of the landscapes and family shots are too generic, or shot from the wrong angle, but a couple of the sunsets/sunrises are nice, especially "Sunset Homasassa River", which has great symmetry and an interesting tilt to it.

Your photo still rocks the contest, though. It's a wonderful angle, incredible lighting, and an action shot all in one. Beautifully done.

  23. Kari Tedrick says:

Thanks, in my mind, it went well with the contest theme.
Reflecting was a great shot. So is, Sunset on the Homossasa River. But the one of the kayak or was it a canoe, on the lake I really liked.

  24. Halfdan Reschat says:

+Kari Tedrick, it had 89 or 90 votes when I went on there, before I cast my 3 votes.

  25. Mary C. says:

The tally was 110 before I added my three, +Kari Tedrick! 🙂

  26. Kari Tedrick says:

    Thanks, +Mary C.
    I won Second Place!
I'm quite pleased. The ultimate decision was based on Artistic Quality and not popular vote. The votes helped the selection committee narrow the scope. The top 20 were chosen for review.

  27. Scott Cramer says:

Top 20? Geez. You were in that, no problem. Wish they'd posted the rules. And… it said judging went through 9/11. So… basically, they just do what they want. SMH

  28. Kari Tedrick says:

Thanks Guys, Check out the Contest update

  29. Kari Tedrick says:

I know I was quite confused myself. He said the advertisement in the local paper was accurate, he's not sure what the deal was on the web site, he wasn't aware it was incorrect.

  30. Scott Cramer says:

Alrighty! Then, tonight or tomorrow I will gather up the names of known voters and put them in a hat or blender or something! 😉

  31. Scott Cramer says:

Tracking down names… don't want to miss anyone. Must think of more fun way to pick than drawing names from a hat. Anyone? +Damian Sanchez always with the ideas…

  32. Damian Sanchez says:

How about something like the Ice Bucket Challenge, but instead of dumping ice water on your head gather up all the names of those people that voted, put them on tiny little pieces of paper, put 'em in a bucket, then dump them on your head.  The one name that remains on your head or on your body is the winner.  You could even videotape it and post it as another one of those #cramerbrothers  silly productions.

I know, stupid.  Best I can come up with this late at night.

  33. Scott Cramer says:

    Not without merit… considering. 😉

  34. Alexandra Bagnara says:

My cookies/biscuits. Just sayin. Second vote and I'm on another continent. And I actually like the pic. Again. Just sayin.

  35. Alexandra Bagnara says:

Yeah, so cmon. I voted AND commented. Aint no farker gettin between me n cookies…. unless they're hangin out sonewhere in either the pacific or indian oceans I guess :/

  36. Scott Cramer says:

Not forgotten! Just got taken away by work this week. 🙂
