American Idol Results vs. New LOST?

American Idol is getting too big for it’s britches. Putting the results show up against a new episode of LOST? Duh. Now if it were down to the final four or something, maybe that would be different – people might at least try to record one and watch one. Maybe even up against a repeat of LOST, but come on, up against a new one? Silly network execs.

The only reason I even switched over on the commercials was to see how drugged up and rediculous Paula Abdul looks. What’s up with that anyway? Let’s vote her off the show and bring in Cindy Lauper. Now that would be a hoot. “Got ‘ya in a head-lock Simon, whatcha gonna do?” 😉

Considering the show on Tuesday beat *all five other networks combined* (NBC, CBS, ABC, UPN, WB) I think they could show the results whenever they wanted to… I’m amazed at the numbers that show pulls.

Paula does look seriously hammered half the time!

I enjoy American Idol, but the numbers on Wednesday’s results show is testament to the average intelligence of the television viewing audience. I don’t have exact numbers but appx. 22 million people watched the *BARRY MANILOW* results show and 16 million watched the new Lost. However, after 9:30 appx. 2 million viewers switched to Lost. Now, anyone who is a Lost fan is probably thinking HOW do you switch to Lost half way into it and HOW is Barry more entertaining? And those group songs … ugh!

Second, I read an interview that Paula gave on Wednesday and she said that the reason she is acting so goofy and saying such imbecilic comments is because of Simon. Paula claims that Simon makes her do it. I would think that Simon would be the one who needs the sedative sitting next to her!

    AMEN GIRLFRIEND! On both counts.

I guess I have to eat crow. The American Idol people know what they are doing. At this rate LOST will have to have guest stars “washing up” on the island like on the old Gilligan’s Island show. NEXT WEEK on LOST, “Paris Hilton and Jon Bon Jovi guest star!”

    Ergh.

  4. Keith Cramer says:

Viewers probably figured they would watch American Idol and then tune in for the last half of Lost and not really miss much of the plot.

Or, everyone was sure Lost would be a repeat.

Plus, more people are probably talking about American Idol at the watercooler. Nobody wants to miss out on the watercooler jabber.
